There are plenty of reasons to have one of them in your raidlancorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13324369460660785029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5448214614110834550.post-35195094085481738482012-03-28T09:07:50.336-04:002012-03-28T09:07:50.336-04:00Here's my take on warlocks, and I hope to put ...Here's my take on warlocks, and I hope to put them in a brighter light for you:

1. Our fire mage who pulls 51k dps in DS, throws an instant fit if he finds out our lock isn't coming, since he always gets buffed with Dark Intent! While it's not a raid-wide buff, it does matter if you place it strategically. Plus, healthstones are very handy, as are the summoning portals when someone needs to HS back (happens more often than you'd think).

2. I don't think you should look into what happens in dungeons while leveling, since there is such a huge imbalance between the different classes (e.g. while leveling tanks, I was always top or second best dps). I've heard that warlocks should be able to solo a lot of stuff and do the red quests easier. I can't speak from experience but that should be a positive note.

3. I don't mind Life Tap, but knowing when you can and when you can't is a must indeed.

4. Warlocks are very good for the 3v3+ brackets, If I'm not mistaken there were locks in nearly every comp in the ladders. While leveling, I can't really say, I've always played the easy-mode classes that kill everything in non-80+ battlegrounds.

5. If I'm not mistaken, I remember to have read something about new/improved warlock pets in MoP. Yay!

6. mage+lock in raid is best combo, mage makes portal, lock summons back! From personal raiding experience, our lock is mostly in the higher end of the dps ladder, too.

7. Albeit true, but I don't quite like the hero-class idea, since a lot of people have no idea what to do when they get bombarded with loads of talents points and different skills at once. Death knights do indeed have a greater "evil"-feel about them, I think, but leveling any class to 60 gives you a pretty good idea of how the class works, imo.

Why wouldn't you recommend feral druids for new players, though? I think it's one of the least complicated classes for leveling (managing the dps rotation at end-game is a different matter).Elliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15746245357258596482noreply@blogger.com
